Oh this glitch has been around for some time i definitely had that happen to me last year as well! So nothing's new here hah. Honestly I didn't know EA still updates that game that's kinda weird i thought that the last update happened in December 4, 2014...
EA completely forgot this game exists, which is a shame. I tried playing today and had the same problem. In the end, I was able to play after repairing, but the experience in general seems strange, I don't know how to correctly define what is happening, but it is certainly not 100%
