No, there's no limit. You should be able to buy all the power (or water, sewage, etc) available in region view. The problem of course is related to slow server response in trading resources between cities. Unfortunately at the moment there's nothing you can do but wait. The city will eventually buy all the power it need, but it might take a little long. Hopefully EA will speed up server response soon.
Hi there.
Yea I have the same problem but with water. I custom made a city with several water pumps to service my main city and it just allows a very small percentage of supply to be bought which has totally ruined my game as i had built everything with that strategy in mind.
This can't be the way they intended because there is just not enough water to service 1 big city if there is a cap limit.
I could be missing something, but I have seen others around the web with the same problem.

Until EA fixes the issues pertaining to regional trade, I have found that I have been able to create thriving cities with all resources needed.
High Wealth Res. is lacking but it works. Low crime, pollution, etc. Start a new city in a new region once they fix the issues.
Just seen the slow server comment which I have seen on other boards, but I have been in game for 3 hours (our time) and no shift in the numbers. Could the lag be that bad? Would we not find other things going wrong with such a lag?

I heard you can put the sewage treatment pump next to your water facility and have unlimited water.

Same issue but only with water. Please fix; I don't want to have to put a water tower in my industrial city.
And yes, I've played about 20 IRL mins in each city.

Yep, works fine. I'm running a 250K population city that way.
All forms of regional trade, on the other hand, are irretrievably broken. Buying water/sewer/electric never works right, and you can't import/export resources becuase transportation is so glitchy. My 250K city is screwed becaue I can't amass enough daily trade to level my trade depot and unlock alloy/plastic imports by water or rail for my chip factory, which was my long-term financial plan. Even if I plop a bunch of trade depots, all the trucks get stuck in a massive traffic jam at the city entrance and I have no raw materials. Or even better trucks bring in chip manterials and no oil for electricity and the city goes dark. Auuuuugh! Can I get the release version of the game instead of alpha?
Unfortunately yes. I have a city of 190k population that was being completely destroyed buy power shortage. It showed I was buying 0 power from my utility city even though the available power was way over the necessary amount. I switched cities often hoping that helped prompting the server to update trading stats and tried opening and closing several times my power plant (that I din't bulldoze right because I heard people talking about that issues) and eventually after 6-7 hours (our time, counting also time used to fix things and add even more power plants in the other cities) I got power back and city started to reborn. So that's why I'm thinking about slow server response, I have no clue what else it could be due to.

This is the bug (among others) that caused me to stop playing. If you buy into the region play concept, this kind of thing is gamebreaking. I refuse to put a power plant in my residential/educational city, yet at just under 100k population, we can't get any power. The oil power plant in my oil drilling city is running just fine with an excess of 147MW, but my education city just won't buy the extra power it needs. I've switched between the cities hundreds of times as I'm building them at the same time, but it never changes. I've stopped going to the residential city completely, as without power, it disrupts water production, which is critical for the other cities receiving water from it.
This needs to be fixed ASAP.
Same bug I've had since launch. It can't simply be server lag when it's not a few minutes or even hours of playtime. We're talking DAYS and my numbers never go up. I have a 300kgal excess of water being pumped out of one city...and my city that needs 73kgal will not buy anymore water no matter what I do. If we are forced to build utilities in every city...and everything else for that matter since none of the other region stuff is working either...then what is the point of even having a region??? I was ok with small city size because I liked the challenge of trying to balance all my cities to work together...but it simply isn't possible because they don't recognize each other. Literally makes the game unplayable.
