Curser not selecting on sim city

I'm trying to play sim city but the curser isn't tracking right, making the game impossible to play. My track pad and curser are working correctly for everything else on my computer but not for sim city. I the curser will have to be several centimeters above whatever I'm trying to select before it will highlight it, and some things near the edges I can't select at all because it's just scrolling the map, or it's too high up on the screen to get the curser far enough above it to select it. I don't play this game all that often but I really do like it and it would be nice if it worked when I want to play it. ☹️
