Epic building ?

Hello everyone ,does anyone know if i start an epic project on a building that is already bronze will i start from bronze or all the way back from the beginning? I don’t want to have to waste a bonze building to find out . Thank you !

    Once the building is bronze you cannot increase it to the next lvl, you have to start a completely new building and go all the way to gold. 
    Bronze is 40 points, sliver is 100 and gold is 200.
