Great Works and Gifting

Two things, both of which have been bugs since I downloaded the game 6 years ago but seem to not be fixed in my version:

1. The great work I got is not syncing to any cities except the one that paid for it, so no other cities can send supplies or even see that there is a great work.

2. Money gifting does not work, one city gives the money and the other does not get it.

  • Hi @SledDog90 - Are you playing online or offline? It can take a while to synch, especially online, but both actions work correctly (most of the time).

In both instances, make sure the cities are connected in the region and that the action completes on the gifting city before you swap to the receiving city. The receiving city has to be running in order to synch - if you have it on pause it will never complete. If it seems to be taking a long time (more than 4 game-hours) in the receiving city, you can sometimes force a synch by exiting the game and reloading.

For simolean gifts, wait until you see that the gift amount has come out of the budget, then save and continue to load the receiving city. You have to let the receiving city run while waiting to receive the gift.

For the Great Works, as long as the new city is connected to it, it takes about the same amount of in-game time. The most important thing about synching Great Works is to NEVER press "Build" or interact with the Great Works in the other city!! If you do this before the game synchs the two cities, it will irreparably corrupt the region and your GW will never build properly.

The game will go through all the prompts about building - it will say it started the construction, advisors ask you to send workers & power, but then check all of those as if you did something. After a couple of minutes of this, the "Cut the Ribbon" button will pop up. This is the only button you should press in the new city - once you Cut the Ribbon, you'll get the graphic showing the GW & fireworks celebration and then the final steps of it being powered & sending workers from the region.

If it still doesn't work, please reply back with a bit more info - which region / what cities / which type of arcology / how long have you waited for the synch, etc

    Hope this helps! Happy building!

Thanks for the reply, hopefully this will work. But if I already clicked to build it with two cities, do I just have to start a new region?

Yeah, if you already clicked the "build it" button in both cities, I would just start a new region. I made that mistake more than once, and have tried all sorts of things trying to fix it. It never works, & the pain of rebuilding gets so much worse after you've put in time at both cities. I wish I had better news.
