iMac 27" 2012 - SimCity for Mac will not run in 2560x1440

Hello, Like others here I am unable to select the native screen res of 2560x1440... maximum option is 1920x1440. I am able to run the max res in Windows 7 running in bootcamp.  After waiting 6 mo...

    There is a workaround! You can use the same approach that is suggested for getting Retina resolutions on the MacBook Pros, per this thread. Basically:

    1. Close Sim City.

    2. Open up Origin, go to My Games.

    3. Right-click Sim City, go to Game Properties.

    4. In the window that comes up, enter:

    -r:2560x1440

    4. Press Apply and start the game in all its widescreen glory.

    Now, why isn't this supported out of the box!??

I am also having the exact same issue on a 27" iMac (2012), and I have also tried simcity on windows 7 on bootcamp and it accepted 2560 x 1440 resolution.

It's so ugly playing with black boxes on either side of the game. Unacceptable EA!!

iMac
27", late 2012

3.4 GHz Intel Core i7

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB

1TB Fusion Drive
