Memory allocation failed SimCity will close [1006] (See descr)
Hey all,
I've been playing SC5 since 2014 and I've never had an issue on my old PC. This was an i5 2400 / 8GB / SSD / SSHD driven PC.
Since February 2017 I've got a newer PC, though with the same gfx card.
Current specs:
Intel Core i7 4771
16GB DDR3
120GB SSD
Several HDD's
Gigabyte Radeon HD7950 3GB Windforce-3
Dual monitor (21,5 inch full hd / 22" 1680x1050)
Some peripherals
(DXDIAG included)
As you can see, this PC is far more enough to handle SC5.
Whether I run it on low, mid, high, ultra settings, it always comes up with this error from time to time.
To be clear about my PC, it's fully up to date, running on the latest version of Windows 10 Pro X64.
I've got no issues in these frequently played games/software:
Games:
- Far Cry 4
- The Crew
- Battlefield 4 ánd 1
- Several NFS games
- Assetto Corsa
- DiRT Rally
- GTA V
- ETS 2 MP
Software:
- Photoshop
- Action Live! Recording Suite
- Serato DJ
- Ableton Live 9 Suite
- Vegas 14
I wonder why this issue keeps coming up.
My PC handles everything well.
I'd like to see some really helpful answers and no links to some 'soluted' topics, as I've read and tried literrally 100+ so called solutions..
Thanks in advance from a 35 year old gaming dad.

- Anonymous8 years agoDid you ever find a solution to the problem? I played some Sum City yesterday for the first time since 2013. I got the 1006 error twice and lost around 10 minites of progress in my city each time.
One time I clicked to view another city and the other time was just random.
