- I'm still having the same issue. I seriously think that this is an issue with Origin though rather than Simcity. The game crashed on me earlier. I did a hard reboot and started playing Battlefield 2142 which had never crashed before on my machine. About 20 minutes into the game the same thing happened.

When I search for origin shutting down games each thread brings up overheating... /shrugs.

If it's overheating (what I was also told by EA support) then why does it happen sometimes after five minutes of play, sometimes after 3 hours of play? Some cities are warmer than others?!?
- ApprovedAnonymous12 years ago
Some cities have global warming simulation and I guess that is what causes it.
- Do you think tat this might have to do with outdated directX drivers. I was just looking at the Origin Help forums and they mentioned in some of their threads that that might be te cause.

I'm pretty sure I have latest updates on it.. Let me try once i'm back from home.. Just strange some people is actually claiming that they were playing without any issues lol...
- ApprovedAnonymous12 years agoHow many of you are running this game with 2 monitors? If so, try disabling the 2nd monitor? Does it fix the issue? I ask cause I got a blue screen when playing metro 2033 and the fix was disabling the 2nd monitor. Could be worth a try.

Anyone? Oh well I guess we will have to wait for the update on the 22nd. I will reinstall the game then to see if it is working right.

How is the new patch working for everyone?
- ApprovedAnonymous12 years ago
To be honest, rubbish. Getting frequent and sudden crashes, anything from a couple of minutes to 20 minutes. Very frustrated.

Glad to see they are working hard to fix this game.

I'm using two monitors.
BTW, my other Origin game does the same random crashing trick...

^^^^ THIS. 3 minutes, 3 hours. Whenever.I unplugged/disabled my second monitor completely and I still get the crash. After the last time I posted here, I still had crashes. Just updating the big patch now. Not holding my breath...
A friend bought the game yesterday (much after me pushing him not to) and he's had absolutely no errors whatsoever. He has a very, very average laptop (I wouldn't even call it a gaming laptop) and I have a reasonably good gaming computer. FTW EA. - ApprovedAnonymous12 years ago
wwwwwwoooowwww... I installed the patch and went to play. Had to feed the animals, so I clicked load on my city and AFK'd.
I come back 10 minutes later to find my computer has restarted in safe mode.
Seriously, fix this **bleep** EA. I want to play this game so bad. And now I **bleep**ing hate it, purely because off all this frustration! - ApprovedAnonymous12 years ago
