Sim City Societies Code from Box Invalid

I'm trying to redeem a code for Sim City Societies from the box when I bought it in 2008. It keeps up coming up as invalid. I contacted EA Help on their online chat, but they kept insisting that the game was redeemed on a different account, even though this is the only account I've ever had with EA. The last time I redeemed this code was over ten years ago, before Origin came out. I don't remember ever needing an email account to install the game via a disc and code from in box booklet.

Is there a way to redeem this code without buying the digital copy? Like I stated before, I've tried with the online chat a few times already, to no avail.

    I just contacted EA about the same thing. I wanted to try activating mine on Origin as my optical drive stopped working properly and I didn't buy another one as most stuff is digital now. For me they said the game was "sunset" and they were unable to activate it. If they won't add it for you, you may not have much of a choice. You might have to wait and see if it goes on sale. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    I would be lying if I didn't say I am curious as to why they can't add it if it is available to buy on the store. 🤨
