SimCity (2013) - No option to play in single player mode.

I re-downloaded my SimCity(2013) game to me new computer. My old computer has this game on there and has the option to play in single player mode, or offline. Since I have downloaded this game to my new computer, there is no option for single player mode. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Origin and well as SimCity. Didn't work for me. I know there was a patch that came out for single player mode back in December 2014 but I can't find that update. Anyone know how I can get that update so I can play this game in single player mode?

  • Hi @jlmcree61 - SimCity 2013 downloads from Origin fully patched to the latest version, so you don't have to worry about finding another patch anywhere. It does start up in Multi-player mode - you need to get past the first multiplayer screen. Once you start playing in offline mode, it will open to the Single Player screen instead.

When you first start the game, click the "Play" button - the green right-facing arrow in the bottom right (click on the spoiler tag to see a pic):

The game will open another launcher and defaults to Multiplayer Mode (online).

Right under the SimCity banner, there are 2 tabs. Click on the "Single-Player" tab to go offline:

Of course, your tabs won't have any "resume" buttons since you're just starting. Click the play button and create your first region. I hope this helps. Happy Building!
