SimCity 2013 not working

Hi, I bought the Sim City 5 Complete Edition on sale and I'm facing the following issue: When I click on the "Start Game" button, it says "Connecting to Update Server" and then displays the error message: ERROR CODE SMCY-25: Could not connect to the SimCity update server. Please try again or refer to the customer support link for assistance.

I've already tried everything, including disabling the antivirus, checking compatibility with different Windows versions, and reinstalling everything I found on the internet.

I live in Russia, and I understand that I won't be treated well, but I'm asking for help if anyone knows how to solve this problem.

I've already tried using VPN and other methods to bypass the ^Russian^ blocks, but nothing worked. I really want to play my childhood game, despite my background and the fact that I have no influence.

    I had the same error as you.

     

    The game kept trying to load into network mode as a default and when I got the option to switch to single player mode to avoid accessing the servers, it would just restart and loop.

     

    I realized it was Windows blocking game permissions.

     

    Right click on  game icon and press "run as administrator ' when you launch the game.

     

    Hopefully this will fix your issue.

    Unfortunately, I've already tried this, and it doesn't work. I've even tried it on a Windows 10 laptop, and it still doesn't want to work.
