SimCity 4 Deluxe does not launch

Hello I am trying to start up SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition however the game will not start. The process appears in the Task Manager for a few seconds then disappears. I've tried everything I can find on ...

Are you running Windows 10? If not, reply with a dxdiag.

Please also try the following:

  1. A disc versions will not work on newer computers, contact a Game Advisor to receive to a digital download (only if you own the original game)
  2. Turn off Origin in-game.
  3. Try running in compatibility mode: right click the Simcity 4 shortcut > Properties > Compatibility. Choose a compatibility mode, click apply. Try a different compatibility modes to see if that resolves the issue
  4. Right-click Origin and select Run as administrator

Lastly, I cannot guarantee we can get the game working on newer versions of Windows, especially Windows 10. Please see the official requirements below:

OS: Windows XP/Me/2000/98 (NT and 95 NOT supported)
CPU: Pentium III 500MHz or equivalent
RAM: 128MB RAM for Windows Me/2000/98; 256MB RAM for Windows XP
Video: 32MB video card with DirectX 7.0 compatible driver
Hard Drive: 1GB hard drive space
Sound Card: DirectX 7.0 compatible

    How on earth can this problem be fixed on Windows 10 please???? Everything I've tried has failed! And this site just keeps sending everyone round and around in circles!!!! :-(

      I do not believe there has ever been any intention to provide any additional patches to this antique old game (thirteen years), to suit any Windows version past Windows 8.1, and that will only be possible in compatibility mode.

        As mentioned by @Gorath_the_Elder, I can confirm that this game is not officially supported on Windows 10.
