simcity 4 deluxe windows 10

Whelp, I used to play SimCity 4 Deluxe on my Windows XP laptop, which I no longer use. I became nostalgic and installed it on my Windows 10 PC and can't get it to run. 

Any tips on how I can play this game on my Win 10 machine?

    Yes, I have tips, first is try right-clicking on the Simcity 4 icon, then click on properties, a checkbox will say "run in compatabilty mode for:" and then click on a box saying an OS, then click on "Windows XP (Service pack 2/3)" if this doesn't work, let me know.
