I had this problem also and the fix is amazingly simple, just do ctrl t. It turns off the 3d settings for NVIDIA.
I used this simple fix - ctrl t - having spent most of the day on EA help chats, rebooting, uninstalling, re-installing da de da da de da. and it worked!!
