SimCity not installing

I have an issue downloading/installing SimCity.

When I open Origin, the game automatically goes in the download manager queue, where it says that its "controlling game files".

It takes a few seconds, then it says that its finished, but i still can't launch the game!! It is still only possible to click "install"!

I have talked with EA support twice, i have tried everything!! I have restarted origin, deleted all origin files, uninstalled origin, reinstalled origin.

I have deletes chaches(?), and restarted my Mac at least 10 times.

I have also started it in safe mode. The origin "app" was weird in safe mode. It was very zoomed in, and i wasn't able to click on anything, or scroll the page.

I have tried every single thing i have found on google/EA site/origin/answer HQ.

Im starting to lose my mind.

I haven't played since March, so i don't know if this problem happened before or after i upgraded my Mac to the newest version, macOS Catalina 10.15.

All my other games work totally fine, no problems at all.. so it has to be something with the SimCity game.

I don't know what to do, any suggestions?

Dont know if i bother chatting with EA again, been on there/this for almost 5 hours!!

@BlackjackWidow thank you for the information! That makes sense!!
I had trouble reinstalling origin because of that, so i don't know why i didn't realise that that could also be the reason for the simcity game.
Do you know if this is something that will be fixed quickly? or will it take time for EA to "upgrade" the game to 64 bit?

@elinejosefineh - At this point, there hasn't been any official information on whether EA will make SimCity 64-bit, or just keep it as a 32-bit legacy game. Aspyr has stated they will upgrade their App Store version of SimCity Complete Edition to 64-bit, but as of this writing it is not yet available. The App Store version is single-player, offline use only, so if you were playing on EA's servers, your regions and cities would no longer be available.

EDIT: As of Dec 21, 2019 Aspyr has listed their SimCity:Complete Edition version 1.0.3 as being 64-bit. Be aware that EA does not support the Mac App Store version. The App Store version is single player only. There is no access to multiplayer or any regions on the EA servers.

There are a couple of other workarounds you could consider: You can create a bootable external drive running Mojave, install a virtual machine with Mojave, or boot camp your drive and run your existing copy on Windows (if you bought from EA, you're able to run either Mac or PC versions of SimCity). There are detailed instructions on how to accomplish these, and more information on BluebellFlora's blog post Running 32-bit apps after macOS Mojave

That's all the information I have right now. You may want to subscribe to the post [Mac] SimCity and MacOS Catalina I'll try to update it with any additional information, if and when available.

Good point - I will update my post with the newest information.

Be aware that Aspyr's App Store version is single player / offline mode only, but it does work well on Catalina
