Simcity on early 2013 iMac - Resolution Issues

I have just bought Simcity for Mac and am running it on an early 2013 iMac with a native resolution of 2560x1440.

When I set the game's resolution to my native on I get black bars at the sides!

The next resolution size down that fits to my screen size is 1600x900 but why would I want to play a brand new game at a lower resolution than my system can offer?! 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Look, please don't be cocky towards us Mac users, we are just as important as Windows users. You may not agree with our choice of computer over some silly Windows.V.Mac "battle", but we are the 50% of gamers that make EA, Valve, Origin, and any other game publisher.

    Still no solution for changing the resolution??

    I bought Simcity Complete Edition on the App Store, and the highest resolution I can use is 1600 x 900.

    In Origin we can change the resolution by right clicking the game, but I didn't buy it on Origin. So how can we do that on a Mac?

    With games like Rollercoaster 3 we could just edit the options.txt. Can't we do it like that with Simcity?
