@FlabbaWokei - Are you getting a message that you've lost connection to the server? (I ask because you said "lose the connection") Are you playing online / multiplayer or offline / single player?
The usual culprits for symptoms like these are antivirus, anti-malware, or permissions on the folders. Make sure that you haven't put password protection on any of the SimCity files or folders, and that SimCity and Origin are marked as exceptions in your firewall and anti-virus.
If you continue to have issues, please reply back and provide more information about your iMac. Instructions on how to do so here - https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612396/highlight/true#M162 Did you purchase from EA through Origin or from Aspyr through the App Store? Also, let us know if there are any error messages, or if the program is just stalling at these particular points. A screen shot of any error messages could be helpful, too.

Hi there @BlackjackWidow , thanks for the reply!
No, i do not get a message saying i lost connection etc, it simply take multiple tries to get it to open without closing as soon as it runs (the iMac has a dot under the application which indicates its running/open i believe). Though i shall give the firewall thing a try! i don't have antivirus installed unless the iMac already has a built in one. I play bothAnd for the single player cities thing, is it the firewall too? Ive tried 2 regions now, and they freeze after a while on the loading screen "now entering". The multiplayer one works fine though
- @FlabbaWokei unfortunately the firewall thing didn't help..

Single player - offline cities? No, I don't think the firewall would do anything. That is strange that the multiplayer one works but not the ones on your computer.
If I remember correctly, a while back you were putting passwords on some of your folders. Is it possible that there is some password protection on your SimCity documents folder that is holding things up?
@BlackjackWidow wow you have good memory! But no, i have not done anything like that since. i did make the game create a new simcitymedia file, before copying my old simcitymedia file's content into it, but to no avail.
- @FlabbaWokei so has my file been corrupted?

@FlabbaWokei I guess anything is possible ☹️ You could try a repair, to see if it helps. (the following are instructions for PC, but the files and folders are the same)
To try to fix local corruption, follow these steps:
Exit SimCity and Origin completely.
Delete your SimCityUserData folder. Default location is \\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityUserData You can rename the folder, or move it to your desktop as a backup just in case first. No need to worry, the game will recreate this folder when you log in again.
Launch Origin "As Administrator" (Right-click Origin.exe, choose Compatibility tab, Check the box next to "Run this program as administrator")
In Origin, right-click the SimCity icon and choose "Repair". Origin has to be online for this to complete. Let the repair run until completed.
Launch SimCity "As Administrator" and check to see if you can load the affected city.
If the issue still exists, exit completely out of SimCity and Origin. Navigate to \\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityRecovery. Right-click SimCityRecovery.exe and choose "Run As Administrator". Be patient, this is a targeted reinstall and can take some time to complete.
Corruption can happen if there is an interruption in the synchronization process, or if something like antivirus or firewall is preventing communication, so always run Origin.exe and SimCity.exe "as administrator". Be sure both are added to exception lists for antivirus and firewall. Try using a wired connection instead of wifi if possible, to reduce data communication errors. Good luck and Happy Building!
