SimCity Societies asks for my registration code on launch

I bought SimCity Societies from EB Games like 5 years ago and I started playing it again recently and it was working fine until I ran into some problems so I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Now whenever I launch it it asks for my Registration Code and I tried putting the code I got with the game and also the code on Origin but whatever I try it says "There was a problem verifying the ownership of this game". I'm getting very frustrated and upset, I bought this game I'm entitled to play it but I just don't know how to get around this stupid Registration Code issue.
