Simcity Societies no longer available on Origin.

So I just got off of EA Help chat and the person named Junaid said that the company no longer offers support for this game.  And even if you send in attachments of pictures of the booklet and cd, you cannot get the game added to your Origin as they no longer have it to give, something like that.  I just wanted to add this to EA Help because I went here looking for help with trying to get my copy to register so I wouldn't have to fuss with the cd and it was a no go.  It's such a shame that many games that came out before the Origin launcher are no longer supported and it's a bit unfair to the buyer.  But that is beside the point and nothing a CS can do about it.  Just a heads up for anyone who comes here searching for the same info. 🙂.

  • @Shade_of_KinG You are correct, and I can confirm it is also available in the British version of Origin (no discount, but at under £15 with its expansion pack...) As a first port of call, I'd try typing "Societies" into the Origin search bar, or the translated title if your Origin is set to a different language.

However, it is the case that sometimes, games are unavailable in some regions. It's the only reason I can think of for its not being present in your version of Origin. Recently, EA stopped supporting 32-bit games, and SimCity Societies is strictly 32-bit. If such a game is ordered through Origin and successfully installed, it's considered to be sold as-is. I don't know whether that's legal in every country, and if your nation bars that type of sale for a new product, that might explain why it's not there. (If that is the reason, it also explains why calling didn't help - if EA can't sell to your region via Origin, they wouldn't be able to do so by any other method either).
