Tourists suddenly stop coming.

I have just noticed this bug hit my city after doing so well for a few days.  I noticed more hotels were in the city so I will try to demolish those and see if that corrects the problem.  I really shouldnt be having this problem since I have the great wonder built which brings in 1000s of shoppers.  I noticed on the bar map that the tourists in my city are 3x my population 200k+ and wondered why no one was seeing attractions or using the transit.

Yep bug is still there was playing was making a hell of a lot of money in my lovely city with 300k Pl and 30 to 50 k visitors then in a day .. Went to 0 and stayed there ... arggggggggggggggggggggg and isn't going up no matter what I do well that sucks ... Can't wait for this to get fixed ... If it ever does

I may have stumbled upon a solution, I was having this same issue and was annoying as hell, so I tired to google it and didn't find any answers except for this thread..

I thought maybe if I plop another train station just to get rid of the pesky messages reminding me for a second station. So I did it, and voila! tourism returned in a second,

from loosing -1400k to +22k

not sure if plopping another bus depo or ferry would work if overloaded, but it worked. Possibly the stations were so overloaded, sims didn't want to get off and flipped my city the bird before leaving.

I also have the bug where tourists suddenly stop coming. It has really crippled my cities.

Edit: I tried replacing my mass transit buildings but it didn't fix the tourist bug for me.

Well it is most likely due to the fact that your city is so disgusting that no one wants to visit!

And also this is a known issue that has somewhat been fixed for casinos but not entirely for all tourism features.

I didn't read through all the posts so you may have had this answer already, But I have the same problem it's connected to my Gambling HQ the moment I open it the tourists leave, When I close it they return. And I did this on a map with no other cities on it. I hope this helps.

Anyone has any idea how to fix the tourist issues? 

1) I have neighbouring cities with 200k++ pops (mix of all wealth)

2) I have no traffic issues (All roads are green)

3) I have 3 Bus terminal regional (Max out)

4) I have 2 trains (10 mins interval waiting time)

5) I have 2 boats terminal

6) I have 3 street cars station (17 mins interval maxed out)

7) I have 4 casinos + 3 monuments (big ben / pissa / liberty)

8) 100k++ population (no health / crime / fire / water / electric....you get the point...)

But my population details shows 0 visitors + population started decreasing for no apparent reason (everyone was happy, tax was at 5%), Suddenly my casinos are losing money (-12k per day), it went on for weeks (with -12k per hr)

PS: tried all work around/solutions (e,g. destroy and rebuild / off and on casino HQ/ rebuild terminals / ....you get the point again...) but to no avail.

I have had this same problem a couple times now. First city, I didn't really know what I was doing, so who knows... Misplaced all kinds of things, etc.

I read up a lot on this "tourism bug", so converted a fledgling city of mine into a tourist city using what I had learned.  All was going well for a period of time. Swimmingly actually! I'm not sure when things went south exactly... It could have been once I decided to add a casino (it was a successful culture city, so I figured why not bilk the tourists for even more simoleons), or even when I put schools in (was using neighbour's schools for a long time). Come to think of it, I also got some hotels which seemed to coincide with the downfall of my tourism industry (as stated in previous posts)...

I have just now bulldozed all my hotels, and will advise on the outcome once I am able to observe anything of note.

(I also realize that maybe I use too many parentheses 😕mileyhappy🙂 

P.S. EA's spell checker doesn't recognize the word "Simoleons". Isn't this sort of an indication of how utterly ignorant towards attention to detail they can sometimes be?

Ok, so one immediate observation I have is that after logging back into my city which was losing several thousand an hour, it is now at +4500. The only thing I did was delete hotels and then got booted while on pause due to inactivity.

Furthermore, I now I have 3500 tourists, whereas I previously had 2800. 

Evidence is possibly mounting that in fact hotels due fcuk your cities.
