This really sucks. I cant even start a new city. been trying to get this started for an hour. I WANT MY MONEY BACK TOO!!!!
"under american law if a product you paid for is not provided as advertised you can sue for compensation. which i will be persuing. if they keep this up"
No you won't. You're an impatient gamer who thinks by threatening a company that you will get your way. Threaten them, their legal counsel has all your information. Despite you agreeing to their Terms of Service, which outlines updates and flaws, you will get nothing and likely have to pay the litigation fees and the defense fees.
You will wait, like all of us will. This is to be expected and happens in every game. Gamers get upset about a product "not working"; Give it some time. Or continue to embarass yourself, really it's highly amusing to some of us. And if you are going to state the law, you better start quoting it to their Terms of Sevice, otherwise you have no case and no lawyer would respectfully throw themselves under the bus just so you can cry about not getting to play a video game. This is seriously F-ing ridiculous. EA you suck beyond words right now. I would say that I can't believe the launch of the game could be this terrible but I was expecting it. I would say I"I told you so" on having an online only game with sub par servers but at this point I don't think it will matter much. What a way to treat the fans of a great series. If I wasn't planning on reviewing this game I would not have bought it period. Oh and i'm getting the same error. I have tried multiple servers and cities with no results. Guess I am going to go play a game that actually works(Tomb Raider).

Well that was easy, Amazon agreed to refund my order in full despite their usual policy on games thanks to EA's incomptentence. Anyone else who purchased through amazon should have no problems requesting a full refund either.
Thats the last EA game I buy.

this is pretty effing crazy. I have never bought a game that i couldnt play. How about load it onto my hard drive and screw your cloud based gameplay. Some one seriously needs to get fired. You know what this says to me? It says EA doesnt care at all about user experience and would rather collect money and burn bridges with their customer base. This is terrible. If I performed like this at work I would be out of a job. Your product is no product, just a means to take caash from me and burn a scar into my mind of a crappy experience. What is the mission statement at EA? Alienate customers, develop unplayable products? Couldn't somewhere during development say hey guys let's ditch the server based format for functionality?
WEAK

We are investigating this issue. In the meantime please try one of the other available servers as we are experiencing heavy load on some of the servers.
You can select and change servers from our Launcher. Click on the “Select Server” button in the bottom left corner and you will be presented with a list of options. Our servers are not geographically locked so you can play on any server you’d like from anywhere in the world. Every server provides the same content, however, it should be noted that your saves are unique to that server and they will not migrate to other servers. If you want to play with your friends, you will need to be on the same server as them.
You are not limited to the amount of servers you can play on, so feel free to jump around and see the different types of players on each of these servers. And even if your friend is on a server marked busy or full , you can both jump on any other available server right away and start playing together. Your gameplay and performance won’t be affected at all.

Thanks for the additional feedback. I have notified the team and we are investigating.
EA didn't roll out enough servers to handle the load which is to be expected, IMO, with these DRM only games. Blizzard had the same issue with Diablo III on release. I had this "unable to create city" issue as well but once another server rolled out last night the game worked like a charm. If you're having this issue or the other where the tutorial loads but won't let you do anything, just quit the game and try a different server, eventually you will get to play the game. Unfortunately, this isn't something that a patch can fix, just more servers needed based on the demographics. Be patient, the game is worth it.
