I have to bump this, there still has been no fix for us in the dark here - this problem is NOT SOLVED

I am now spending a third day on the telephone to EA trying to solve this.

When I try to play the game, I recieve the following error message:

Were sorry an error has occurred. We are unable to connect to the EA servers to activate sim city on this computer using your account. Please try again later.

Using a different PC and the same origin account, the game works fine.

So far EA have walked me through a couple of attempts to sort this issue:

Installing in safe mode with networking

Installing the game on to another origin account (new product key)

Neither of which work

If others have this issue, please keep posting is this thread. Lets get it solved

After trying just about everything, this worked for me.

Vivek: What steps you have tried so far to fix your issue?
you: reinstalling manually uninstalling, got a few new codes
you: firewall down antivirus off
Vivek: Okay. 
you: port forwarded some ports
you: idk if they were the right ones, just saw on a forum post
Vivek: Cruz,  Please follow the below mentioned instructions to disable UpnP devices on your computer:-
1. Press: Windows-button (the one between lAlt and lCtrl) + R, a window should pop up.
2. Write: "services.msc" (without the ") then press enter.
3. In the list of services, scroll down to "UPnP Device Host", click it and press "Stop service".
4. Now do the same thing but with the service "SSDP Discovery".
5. Exit the window and go to control panel-> Network and Internet-> Network and Sharing Centre-> Change advanced sharing settings (to the left)-> Under "network discovery" select to turn off network discovery.
6. SAVE CHANGES

Vivek: Please follow below mentioned instructions to clear Flush DNS cache on your computer:-
1. Hold down the Windows key and press R
2. At the Run command, type cmd and press enter
3. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press enter
4. Type ipconfig /registerdns and press enter
5. Type ipconfig /release and press enter
6. Type ipconfig /renew and press enter
7. Type netsh winsoc reset and then press enter
8. Restart the computer

i get this now after the last update it wont even load my game

  i paid for the digital delux and now i am getting zilch what the hell is going on

sadly even those thigns didnt manage to solve the issue for me ☹️

im still stuck on that crap
