(System: AMD A4-5300B APU with Radeon™ HD graphics, 32-bit, x86 Archecheture, no pen interface, 4GB RAM with 2.73GB available, capable of playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 at low graphics.) When I play Simcity, whenever I press Alt+W/Ctrl+Alt+W nothing happens except cheat applied stuff but no notification, and no Simoleon increase, just lag and a cursor flick, any help?
Hi @Legally_genius - The cheats work in offline/single player mode, and online in sandbox mode. If you're playing regular multiplayer (online) mode, I believe the cheats are disabled.
If they're not working AND you're in sandbox mode, or playing a city / region offline, please reply back and we can try to troubleshoot the issue further. I know that there can be some lag time involved, even if you're in sandbox mode, so it may just take a bit of time for the server to synch and put the simoleans in your budget. You could try forcing the synch by logging out and then logging back in if this is the case.
@Legally_genius - There is no sandbox play in Single Player / Offline Mode. I don't mean to be picky, it's just that there could be a difference in troubleshooting, depending on whether you're playing offline or online. I think you mean that you're online in sandbox mode (with only you as the mayor)?
Check to make sure you're using the correct codes (sounds like you are), and that your game is NOT paused. Watch the Budget panel.
Alt-W will add pop up a message telling you to spend wisely. 100,000 simoleans will be added to the budget, and a transaction is listed under the Transaction Window.
Ctrl-Alt-W does NOT give any message, and there is no transaction listed. It just adds 5,000 simoleans to your income.
Make sure you don't have any key-mapping software active that may be using the same key controls
If you're playing online, make sure the server recognizes that you're in Sandbox mode. I've seen some reports of the server not recognizing Sandbox mode, even if you have it checked. You'll know for certain if you started with 1 million simoleans (instead of the standard 50,000) and all the buildings are unlocked. If you have any buildings that say you can't place them until you do something, it's not recognizing the mode.
Try changing servers and starting a new region in sandbox mode
If you've installed any mods, remove them and try again. Online mode doesn't allow mods, even in sandbox mode. Offline mode does allow them, but there can be some conflicts and it's best to test with no mods.
Try using a wired connection instead of wifi if possible, to reduce data communication errors or synchronization issues
If you still can't get it to work, try a game repair:
Delete your SimCityUserData folder. Default location is \\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityUserData You can rename the folder, or move it to your desktop as a backup just in case first. No need to worry, the game will recreate this folder when you log in again.
Launch Origin "As Administrator" (Right-click Origin.exe, choose Compatibility tab, Check the box next to "Run this program as administrator")
In Origin, right-click the SimCity icon and choose "Repair". Origin has to be online for this to complete. Let the repair run until completed.
Launch SimCity "As Administrator" and check to see if you can load the affected city.
Issues can happen if there is an interruption in the synchronization process, or if something like antivirus or firewall is preventing communication, so always run Origin.exe and SimCity.exe "as administrator". Be sure both are added to exception lists for antivirus and firewall.
Let me know how it goes. Hoping you get plenty of simoleans 🙂
@BlackjackWidow I've tried with the game playing, I'm on a computer using Ethernet, I have no wealth mod, just Orion's Belt and no traffic lights, I'll probably uninstall Orion's Belt then uninstall the game a reinstall.
I'm now done reinstalling, they work now, it was probably installation corruption (since Orion's Belt make wealth cheats still usable).
