AR Program DIY Spots mission issue

Trying to do the AR Program DIY Spots mission and when attempting to quick drop items, they disappear after selecting and attempting to place. No matter what I do, they never show up and are not being placed, effectively making my stuck from progressing past this mission. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall?
