Business model fail

So I was playing skate. with my friend last night, and for once bugs weren't completely ruining our session (I mean it did black screen on me once and I had to relaunch, but that's mild compared to previous sessions).

Anyhoo, my friend hasn't given you any money, and he was looking at the season pass premium and being tempted.  And I told him his options were to buy the founder's pack for $25 and get whatever that gives, or just pay $10 for the pass, and he was briefly tempted.

Then it occurred to me, since he has a life and kids and doesn't play every day, he's missed out on possibly at least 3000 Tix from not getting the daily login bonus, and it seems quite likely that if he paid for the season pass, he won't get his full money's worth, and it's prolly not a good idea, unless he likes feeling ripped off.

After considering that, he decided not to give you guys any money.  Is this how you wanted that conversation to play out?

  • Exactly, that part doesn't make sense to me. In most games you can progress the battlepass or even anything, by simply playing the game (COD, R6, The Division). For whatever reason in skate., once you have done dailies, weeklies or event challenges/tasks you are progress-locked. Hopefully in the long term challenges are not the only way to progress in this game because currently a lot of players are feeling like the challenges are like "doing chores".
