I did read the bug report, and it is a possible bug, so absolutely, that should be tested further! An important point of that thread is that the solution isn't just 'get a microphone'. The solution is undetermined at the moment until the devs can test out what could be happening. They were asking if you had a headset you could further test with, in an attempt to isolate the root of the problem and fix it more efficiently.
Please understand that no one has disagreed with your point here that it's an unreasonable action by a player. I do, however, disagree with the statements that EA/full circle and responders in this thread are fine with this sort of thing.
To get back into a more productive discussion, what would your fix be?
Automated bans are unpredictable, and false positives are possible, meaning players who have done nothing wrong could be griefed by player reports and get temp/perma banned incorrectly. Human review of reports takes time and patience from players. Outside of those two usual methods in games, do you have any ideas for a better option?
