Feedback so far - updated

Not sure if it's a bug or just bad game mechanics but sometimes when I'm skating down a hill my character will still just randomly slow down or stop. I'll be going fast down a hill then as soon as I get close to the bottom he just stops moving, kinda weird and I don't think that's how gravity works lol. Also half the time I try to grind or clear a gap he can't jump high enough even if I'm holding down the right stick for a bit longer to get a higher jump (kind of like the old games). Even with grind assist turned on I'll still miss grinds when I'm going right to the railing I'm trying to grind on.

Also Vee is Vee-ry annoying, same with Slappy or whatever his name is, and it's not too fun to have new quests/missions/whatever start immediately after doing a challenge. I know you don't have to do them right away but having the AR guide you to the next one right when you finish another makes it feel way too linear (especially when they re-explain how tricks work every single time). Also what are skater eyes? Why do I have to hear one of the narrators say "use your skater eyes" every ten seconds? And why is there a lore explanation for why my character doesn't get hurt when he falls? It's a videogame you don't need some in-story reasoning for basic game mechanics, especially when it's been in every single Skate game before this. You might as well have the narrators say "Isn't this a fun Skate™ Videogame™? You are currently playing this game on Steam™!!! Thanks for playing!" every two seconds because all the excessive explanations and random narrations completely remove any sense immersion in the game.

Edit/update: I went to post more feedback but I guess you can only post one thing at a time, so I'll just add on to this. Also kinda funny how the feedback site is almost as buggy as the game lol

I fixed the held flip trick issue, apparently the option for using held flips kept turning itself off - not sure why anyone would want to turn it off to begin with, so that's a choice I guess. A few other things that kind of bug me about the game are how you stop after completing challenges, it'd be nice if you could keep skating afterwards and just have the score/goal pop-up go over the screen while still being able to play. Not a huge deal, but it feels kind of pointless especially when you have to wait a minute or two, usually on a black screen, after every single challenge, which gets pretty annoying when you've completed all the main missions and can only replay the same daily challenges over and over. Also the replay after each challenge needs to get fixed too, or just scrapped altogether - every single time I get the replay (if it even loads, half the time it's just a black screen) it's either way too close to my character and the camera angle's weird, then by the time I adjust it the replay is already over, or it just shows my character at the very end, usually when he's stopping or when I get off my board so it just feels kind of pointless. Also the physics are very wonky, I hate when I jump and my character rotates to line up with a wall or a ramp or a bowl when I'm not even anywhere close to it, so I just wind up falling instead. I've missed so many jumps and it's insane that such a basic game mechanic can be so bad, it worked fine in all the older games from 10+ years ago so I'm not sure how that got screwed up.

Vert skating also feels kind of bad, the wind up mechanic for doing faster spins kind of sucks and rarely ever works so it's hard to get more rotations from big jumps. Also grind assist feels kind of pointless when it's so easy to miss jumps - I know you can hold the right stick down longer or hold it up for longer to compensate, but sometimes that doesn't work either. It feels way too easy to fall sometimes too, you just lightly bump into a wall and your character goes flying - it'd be kind of fun if Hall of Meat was still in this game, like every other skate game, but even then it'd get annoying (which it already has). A lot of basic things that worked perfectly in the old games are VERY inconsistent in this. Also I kind of hate the character designs/art style, it feels like I'm playing a Skate version of the Sims or Fortnite or something. I think I'm probably done playing this, it feels too buggy, too annoying, and even if some new features like climbing are kind of cool it'd be more fun to just replay Skate 2 or 3. EA could've just re-released Skate 1-3 and made so much more money than they're probably making off of all the in-game items from this, and way less people would be annoyed with what happened to the franchise. Even if you just remastered one of the OG games and added a few new features, like climbing or being able to rotate the camera, and fixed some of the bugs that are present (slow/laggy gameplay, I only noticed that when I was playing Skate 2 recently though so it could be my PS3 or the disc itself since I haven't played it in like 8 years) and it'd be way better than this. It still has potential and I know it's early access, still pretty fun but not fun enough and doesn't feel worth playing after a while. The bugs get frustrating and the rest feels too repetitive and limited since there are so many tricks that haven't been added yet.
