I’ve been enjoying Skate, but I wanted to share some honest feedback and creative ideas that I think could really help the game grow. First off, I’m not a fan of loot boxes — they feel like a step backwards and don’t add much value to the experience. Some of the line missions also feel overly difficult to the point of being rage-inducing, which takes away from the fun and flow that skating should have. That said, I think there’s a better way to monetize the game if it’s going to stay free-to-play. Instead of loot boxes, consider selling Traversal Packs — inspired by games like Helldivers, where players buy themed gear. Imagine packs that let you fly like Superman, swing like Spider-Man, teleport, or jump like the Hulk. These wouldn’t replace skating, but would add new ways to explore and express creativity. You could even bundle these powers with themed maps — like a Spider-Man-style pack that comes with a New York-inspired city. Pricing around $30 per pack feels fair, especially if players know what they’re getting and feel confident in their investment. Skate culture has evolved so much over the years, and this game has the potential to reflect that evolution — from surf-inspired roots to street skating and beyond. You’ve already made it fun and injury-free, which helps players focus on creativity. I know skaters never stop skating, and when they can’t skate in real life, they turn to games like this. That’s why I think this game is a gold mine — and I’d hate to see it flop due to outdated monetization. I’m currently attending Full Sail University and would love to contribute creatively to the team if there’s ever an opportunity. I’m passionate about skate culture and game design, and I truly believe Skate could be a flagship title for EA if it embraces innovation and community-driven ideas.
