Glitch through the ground and can't respawn

As title says, my character glitches through the ground and seems to fall forever. Returning to marker or fast travelling doesn't solve the issue. Only fix seems to be AFK disconnecting or restarting the game. Not sure what triggers the bug as I was just doing a spot challenge.
