Quality of Life Improvements
I’ve been really enjoying Skate, but there are a few simple quality-of-life changes that I think would make the experience much smoother and more enjoyable for a lot of players.
Map Filters
The map could really benefit from more filtering options. Right now it can get cluttered, especially when trying to find specific activities. It would be great to add filters for:
- Challenges
- Seasonal / Temporary / Permanent activities
- Completed / Uncompleted objectives
Being able to quickly separate what is available, what is limited-time, and what has already been finished would make progression much easier to track.
Loot Box Purchasing
When buying loot boxes, it would be nice to choose a custom amount instead of only being able to buy 1 or 5 at a time. For example, let players enter or select any amount they want to purchase. This would make spending currency feel much less tedious.
Gameplay Profiles
Please consider adding Gameplay Profiles. This would let players save different control/gameplay setups and switch between them quickly. It would be much better than manually changing multiple settings every time we want a different feel.
Inventory Cleanup
There should be a way to clear out unwanted items. Some possible options:
- Exchange unwanted items for currency
- Break them down into crafting materials
- Combine/craft them into something new
- Mark items as junk and delete them in bulk
Editor Improvements
In the editor, it would be very useful to save Camera Effect Presets. If players find a camera effect combination they like, they should be able to save it and reuse it later instead of rebuilding it from scratch every time.
More Board Customization
It would also be great to have deeper board setup customization, such as:
- Choosing board length
- Choosing truck stiffness
- Choosing wheel hardness
These options would add more personality to each setup and could also affect how the board feels. Some players may want a loose, playful setup, while others may prefer something tighter and more realistic.
I'm sure there are more... but these would add a lot of depth and remove frustrations from players.
