Holy Airball
With no intention of being rude but what happened to skate? My friends and I have played skate3 for years now and introduced new friends to it. I can’t say they will want to play this new one. The heart of everything we enjoyed has been stripped from the game. It used to be all about competing against your friends for bragging rights and would propel everyone’s skills by making them want to get better. The idea of playing against your friends was the biggest part of the game but it has now become a coop team game which isn’t fun. The game had life and spirit. It’s sanitized now. There is nothing about the skating community and it’s edgy crass side. The game has asked how interest I am in skating culture but it seems apparent they have none outside of a financial aspect. I understand being a company but trampling on iconic beloved titles is beyond immoral. The natural aspect of finding insane jumps in sewers or the quarry made sense but now it’s just half pipes on roof tops. Soulless corporate city. There is zero lines pushed. It’s as pg as a game can become which is not skate culture. We got rid of coach frank for vee. A lot of the things our group will go to skate for will unfortunately be in the old one. The game mode “skate” is even gone. New zones with thematic style is gone. Challenging friends gone. The magazine cover missions, getting sponsored, the pimp hat, realistic clothing laying in the body, dark slides, all gone. Im confident this game will fail. I couldnt even justify the idea of in game purchases for something that has no replayablility. As said by the game director, it will not be a series of games pumped out, it will be listening to fans and changing over time, the biggest red flag is the lack of all the modes and things people wanted and expected to see in this game or at the very least to be included from the last game. At this rate EA will be relying on community made maps to carry the game. It has become a bonafide day care for how childish and dumb most of the changes are. Hall of meat was not a brand risk. I regretfully have lost all hope and have merely posted this hoping an EA mod will see it, and say to himself “I agree with that guy” before he deletes it and it goes to the void. Godspeed all and please mega gaming corps. Stop destroying my childhood for petty cash.
