The F2P microtransaction nonsense is so disappointing.
I can understand it in games that are solely focused on online competition, where microtransactions can give you a competitive advantage. It's an understandable decision (although I still hate it).
But for a skateboarding simulator? Please. The transactions are for aesthetic nonsense, not useful, barely anybody is going to spend any money on it. I will NEVER spend money on it. No way, never.
The game should just be a normal game, £40 release price or whatever, job done. Then all the in-game content can be unlocked by progressing in the game. I already paid my £40, now let me advance through the game to unlock new gear etc. Like, y'know, a normal game.
Also, 100% agree about how soulless and corporate it is. Literally zero character in any of the game. Nothing.
The skateboarding mechanics are pretty good. But that's it. I can't relax and enjoy a game as culturally barren as this. I manage to dip in for 20 minutes or so, then find myself quitting. The experience is really no different from the lifeless maps of SkaterXL.
