Nosebleed Grind

I have played the Skate franchise since Skate 1. Have never felt inclined to contact EA regarding their game in any way. Nosebleed Grind is hands down the worst challenge they have ever made. It's worse than Can You Spell GIRL. The physics engine cannot handle grinding at this speed and the ramp at the end is broken because it is close to the rail you need to gap so it sucks you into it making you fail it on the last bearing. A challenge that takes upward of a minute to complete each time. Please consider adjusting this challenge. I'm sure there was a lot of negativity around challenges being too easy but Nosebleed Grind is unfair not difficult. God forbid you play on custom sliders as I imagine there is no way to complete this on more realistic settings.

  • It's the definition of a good idea, god awful execution. I have no issue with big/goofy challenges, but the mechanics/rails are so finnicky that it's basically impossible to do this consistently. I managed to do it earlier in the season but only after struggling for an hour or more and it sucks even more the second. Either I fall of the rail for no discernible reason, or the transfer doesn't register for no obvious reason, or I tap B to get out of a grind to roll over to the other side of the rail and I just sail completely off the rail, or I'm apparently going too slow to make it to the far end even though I've been 5-0ing/nose grinding almost the entire rail, or I fly off the rail coming back because when I exit the grind with B my character flips out and does a freak 180 instead of just dismounting, or I get to the very end and the game flips out when I do the ollie on the ramp and my character immediately bails inches from the last bearing. Trying to do this challenge makes me want to uninstall the game and never come back and I've been playing skate games since the very first one. It sucks. Period.

  • Ok, after looking up a video on how to reliably do it, you have to grab the first bearing and 5-0 or nose grind the left side of the rail all the way through. If you're going fast enough you should get the transfer without actually transferring (why? I have no idea). Get to the other end of the rail and when you start grinding back, ollie out of the grind, try to get into the blunt/noseblunt on the inner part of the rail, blunts slow you down the most in a grind so you should be able to exit out of the grind after getting the last rail bearing down to the walkway with enough time to get the last bearing assuming the game doesn't make your character freak out and bail for no reason.

It's doable but you basically need to do it EXACTLY as they want which makes it incredibly frustrating especially since the only real clues you get to let you know what to you MUST do is that you need to 5-0/nose grind as part of the challenge which is a hint to keep up your speed.

  • I think this challenge is a joke. I have done everything in the game but can't get off the grind at the end and it's for tix, really frustrating.
