Skate. on KBM findings
This is a re-post of my answer to one of 6e67's discussions I felt like I should re-post this here to kind of spread the word.
"I don't know what happened but my controller disconnected like 45 minutes ago. I tried to fix it but then I noticed that inputs on my keyboard and mouse turned on like in-game, not only on the menu.
So, I've been messing around with the controls just freeskating; it's not half bad. There are missing inputs though for example I can't do hippy jumps because I've no idea what combination of keys move the feet (I'm running a tenkeyless and some logitech mouse with two buttons on the left side + dps-button behind the scroll wheel). The fact that I am playing with KBM is probably not inteded because when I enter skatepedia, the tutorials show prompts for Xbox. It would be such a shame if they didn't add this fully, because it works surprisingly well.
Controls are surprisingly intuitive and feel sharp. Keep in mind I am playing on CLASSIC button-layout.
You have your classic WASD (=left stick) and mouse + mb1/mb2 (right stick, hold down mb to charge your trick and flick with your mouse to execute. Work actually pretty well. I'm getting the tricks I am trying to do. Though the sensitivity is a hinderence since the deadzone translates to your mouse input).
Space (=jump, seems to only work off-board), shift (could be a key for left foot?) left control (=left-hand grab + off-board roll), alt (=right hand grab, off-board roll), Z (=break, on-board only), middle mouse button (=session marker), R (=get on/off board), X (=spontatiously ragdoll), 1 (=emote wheel), ARROW KEYS (=quick-emote) and ESC (=pause)
The fact that this felt playable with KBM makes me think that someone at some point worked on this. They might still be working on it.. who knows"
