skate. playtest, EA anticheat

If you played the earlier playtests in a virtual machine, you are no longer able to play skate.

Now you could patch your virtual machine, and run patched software on the host to bypass all this and get past EA anticheat.

So my question is, why block virtual machines by default?

The people playing legitimately on a virtual machine will have a machine that identifies itself as a vm, The people hacking your game are going to patch their software and run it in a virtual machine anyways.

I would love to play skate. But if they're just going to block virtual machines by default, I just won't play.

Edit: Since this type of issue will never be resolved with any game developer. All I can say is if you care about kernel level anticheat, just uninstall skate cpt and EA. I did.

  • Odd, I use VR on my machine all the time and never get a prompt or anything that labels it a vm? Or is it cause I use a oculus?
