So if it was an in-game clothing store like the other skate games you wouldn't have to grind for rep to unlock "the most basic" items no..?
Fair enough most of the clothing items in the loot boxes are **bleep** but buying the boxes isn't just for cosmetics, you need to buy boxes to level up your rip score or you are going to progress at the slowest rate ever.
Takes 2 hours at most to do the daily challenges for your rip chips then you spend them on boxes because you can't use them for anything else... If you don't like the clothing you get from the boxes don't wear them, buy something from the store.

No, you wouldn't. In previous Skate games you were able to customize your character with a pretty decent variety of clothing on creation and then go to the in-game clothing store for further options.
Players in these forums were asking for a basic pair of skinny jeans for months, well guess what? Now it costs $10 just to get the privilege of grinding for them in the Skate Pass.
What's your point, we should all say thank you to EA for drip feeding us content while we grind reputation and currency like an MMO for lootbox rolls on plain t-shirts? Seriously, what could possibly drive you to defend **bleep** like this? It's wild.

What else are they going to put in the loot boxes other than **bleep**ty cosmetics, when clearly they can make more money putting decent branded clothing on the store tab with microtransactions.
How am I defending it? I clearly said the items in the boxes are **bleep** but how else do you expect to progress in a FREE GAME with NO STORY without grinding some sort of XP i.e. rip score which in this case you get from opening loot boxes.
Unfortunately as much as we all wanted this to be like the other skate games, its just not and crying about it isn't going to change anything 👍

The game is free and I'm unhappy about it.
The fact that it's free is the exact reason why it's fully if ridiculous loot boxes, microtransactions and MMO permanent online nonsense. Before the game was released, if a sample survey of the target audience were taken, I highly suspect exactly 0% of players would vote positively for lootboxes or MMO.
So of course we're angry about it. Nobody ever asked for or expected an MMO game full of childish loot boxes and zero depth or culture. You think we're just gonna sit back and say "ah well it was free" and be happy about it? We were all ready to pay real money for the game. Why make it free? It's nefarious, underhand and has an ulterior motive. Nothing to do with what the players actually wanted, and nothing that the players should sit back and be happy about.

Imagine defending garbage anti-consumer practice with "crying about it isn't going to change anything" in a forum specifically designed for feedback where we are regularly asked our opinions on the store/clothing/monetization in surveys.
You can white knight for a multibillion dollar company while they drip feed you the least amount of content possible to keep you hooked but don't act like it's actually a good thing.Just makes you seem desperate.

if you think coming on here moaning about the the loot boxes and the items within is going to make them change it you are delusional. You can give them your opinion all you want but I guarantee they ain't going to change a thing because its a huge cash grab and all they care about is the money, they don't give a **bleep** what the community thinks because if they did they would have listened to what people said they wanted the game to be in the first place.
