Adding Skate 1-3 to skate.
They've already said the map is going to expand, so why not add the first three games as "islands" or different cities that we can travel to? Of course it would be paid DLC but who wouldn't pay to have the first 3 games updated to the skate. engine? You could just hop on a bus and pick which game you want to play. Its just an idea that seems realistic to implement, and it would be a major boost to the longevity of the game, not to mention good fan service. The legality of getting all the pros and brands signed up again might be tough, but EA is a corporate behemoth so I'm sure they could handle it.Phone: pictures and recording
I think it’ll be so cool if I could bring out my phone and take a selfie or record my friends doing a trick, it’ll really make it feel like authentic if the camera angle looked like it came from a phone rather than a drone in the sky. Just food for thought, also always pictures I think that’s more important.Suggestions
To preface this list, I have not played much of the new game. I got as far as the Trasnsition 101 mission before I got softlocked. The game is great and the physics are better. However, I have played nearly 30,000 hours of Skate 3, along with 5,000 hours in the rest of the franchise. I am HEAVILY biased. It is my favorite game franchise all time, and I have waited nearly my whole life for another installment. (2008 born) I don't mind the free to play aspect. I got over it very quickly. I know feedback is very important to making this game better. Here are a handful of suggestions. Some are downright goofy, but these are the things I thought would make Skate 3 better when I played it over the years because that's where I started and that's what I envisioned the new Skate game would be improving upon. Lemme hippy jump cars PLEASE. That was my first memory of playing S3 and I remember it being so rewarding to pull off. Lemme be able to set on/off board marker preferences. I would get off my board and place a marker, hit a spot and bail, and come back standing up. I'd like to be able to always spawn back on my board instead of having to get on it again. Bring back legacy parks. Megapark. Rosalita. Boneyard. Park & Play. Community Center. S3/S2 Ditch. It would also be great to have remasters of all 3 maps. I actually wouldn't mind paying for DLC to play on those again. For fans and veterans who disliked the game being free to play, they would have something to pay full price for. Being able to at least change the ply color of the blank board would be aestheticly adequate for me. More nods to S3 online culture. Neon green fits. Blindingly white skin color. Neon grip tape that doesn't look like it grips because it looks like plastic. RT/R2. TO. CALL. BACK. BOARD. PLEASE. (along with legacy controls more accurate to the original games.) Darkcatches. I know its controversial because it's heavily tied to S3 comp, but I want them back. Out of every spot the developers could subtly bring back, the only one I recognized was the triple stairset outside Rosalita. We could have easily had Park & Play at the base of the ramp. Why? Community Center in the leaked beta, but not in the Early Access. Why? Kick Push by Lupe Fiasco not in the base soundtrack. Why? Add a battle pass lol. Where is Coach Frank? Where is Reda? Where are all the pro skaters? Where is Sammy? Why didn't we have a memorial park for our boy Fabio? (RIP Fabio frfr) Who are these other people? I'm scared. Where are Deathraces? Why can't Shingo take over instead of Vee? Didn't my boy go to film school? Why is Meat Man fifty dollars? Please don't make Dem Bones fifty dollars. Bring the Park Editor and skate.Park back. That was fun. Skate 3 web servers back online. I still need that Sellout trophy to get the platinum trophy on PS3. OG edit filters from the OG DLC film packs. Please give Fabio a proper funeral. More trap music in the soundtrack. Dr. Pepper Man, Superdude flips renamed to Miracle Whips, and Even Flow by Pearl Jam in the soundtrack. The community would love this. Goofy shaped skateboards would be cool. It's called skate. Maybe adding rollerskates, scooters, and BMX bikes down the line would be interesting. Collabs with the NBA/NFL/NHL/MLB. Player jerseys would go hard. Nike Dunks. Jordan 1's, 4's, and 5's. Custom colorways? CUSTOM SHOE CREATOR???Give me offline mode, or better optimize online.
Firstly, I love the gameplay. I haven't been playing for long (only started on the playtest like 1-2 weeks ago) but I love how it plays. I love how smooth you can make your tricks and lines. I love exploring and finding spots to hit some difficult sequences. That's exactly how I felt in the old games. The art style, cosmetics and story mode are all a different discussion that everyone has differing opinions on. But my biggest pet peeve is that there's no offline mode. Sometimes I want to be able to erase everyone else from my session, but that's mostly to reduce frame drops. I've played both on PC and Xbox Series X, and I experience SIGNIFICANT frame drops when I go to highly populated areas, such as the Gullcrest church or Rollin' waves park. This is very annoying to me. I prioritize the smooth gameplay this game offers, and it really takes me out of it when I go from a smooth, consistent fps down to a slow, choppy fps. Ultimately, I'd like to be able to choose a private session, or simply optimize the online servers for this sort of thing. Perhaps less players? Not sure. The easy solution, to me, would be to allow me to start a private session.Other Players & The Shop
I want to start by saying I appreciate having this platform for us to speak our minds; even if all of our feedback goes ignored, at least we get a chance to say our piece. If we must be online at all times, it would be great if we could at least hide other players if we want. Even though they technically don’t interfere with me doing my tricks. It really messes with the feeling of gameplay having a bunch of people skating all around me. The layout/offerings in the shop are kind of confusing too. I just want to be able to browse through a bunch of shirts and buy a shirt. For example, the “Board Shop” category is just a list of random items - it would be much better if this was categorized by item type, like “wheels”, “trucks”, etc. - I’m not trying to sound mean but I feel like this is a really elementary concept that I’m having to emphasize. Maybe it’ll be different in the completed game.Culture change and more
This game feels like non skaters made it. They should study why skate 3 worked so well and go back to the principals we all liked. Art: for one The art style is in the other direction of skate culture and is far from appealing. This pop cartoonish animation feels trash. Skate 3s animation appealed to me more and still does. Also The guy characters in skate 3 looked like dudes while all the guy characters in this game look like they have makeup on which is fine but don’t make it by default Music: the skate 3 soundtrack was iconic, I've found myself playing the whole soundtrack while I skated irl it was so good. These new songs are annoying and I already want to mute the soundtrack. please bring back some alternative rock/ grungy/ metal/ punk tracks that appeal to skaters more. Narrator: coach Steve was iconic, this robot thing narrating the tutorials gets annoying fast. No narration would be better. But would like to see maybe some pro skaters we all like doing the narration. online: I wish this game could be played offline. I don’t want to lose connection constantly. I just want to skate around without having to play online. On a positive note I feel like the new landing animation and trick movement is cool.
