100% CPU usage even with capped FPS

So I've been having terrible stuttering and freezing issues since I got the game. I've realised it's because it's using 100% of the CPU.

I tried capping FPS but even at 60 FPS it still uses 100% of the CPU. I also tried the command RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit 3 with no result.

My build is:

Windows 7

GTX 970

i5-4690 (is it not good enough for this game?)

Would really appreciate any tips.

Thanks

    Hey guys, I actually found out what was my issue.  I am absolutely dumbfounded what is is.  In my Nvidia control panel I turned Shader Cache to On, and it completely fixed the game for me.  I have never seen such a difference using shader cache before until today.  I typically turn that off but for some reason I left it on and the game was butter smooth.  This reduced my CPU usage SUBSTANTIALLY, main menu is normally around 90%-100% and after this it drops down to 30%-60%.  The game doesn't freak out whenever anything new is loaded anymore, and I can actually play it now.  I hope this can help others, although it's enabled by default so I fear most will already have it on.  Either way it doesn't hurt to try!

    I have this problem too.  CPU usage is extremely high even when nothing is happening, and I suspect it's contributing largely to the stuttering.  I was messing around last night with CPU allocation and priority, and somehow got the CPU usage to around 50% after setting priority to low, and it ran absolutely perfect.  I am not sure what I did, because the stuttering and extreme CPU usage came back after returning to the main menu and loading another map.  Let me know if you need anything from me that could help.

    Yeah I already tried repairing the game and reinstalling everything with no result. Also tried pretty much everything in Nvidia Control Panel. No idea what could be wrong...

    This is a problem with the game not his rig.

    Still having this issue....tried every suggestion. It'd be great if EA could focus on fixing the game before monetizing it...

  • The Fix:  Use a program (like Bandicam) to lock the game frame rate to 60.

    In my example of Bandicam (which is free, by the way):
    - set it to 'Game Recording Mode'  along the top (looks like a game controller)
    - select the FPS tab on the left
    - turn OFF 'Show FPS Overlay'
    - turn ON 'Set FPS Limit to'... 60
    - turn OFF 'Only when capturing'

    It's an issue with the game even more so after the 1.03 patch, it has nothing to do with OP's computer or his in-game settings, multiple people have this issue and there is countless threads buried on here with the same problem, myself included;

    @TamTaaam

    Can you try the steps in the above post that has been marked as a solution and let us know if that has a similar effect for you please?

    Thanks.

    The suggested fix has not worked for me as the setting was as the writer said, enabled by default. This is seriously * annoying. I spent 80 dollars on a game I can't play because of either stuttering or rubberbanding. Either fix your * or refund our money. I am aware you aren't responsible for these issues but it seems to me like EA is currently avoiding the userbase and it is just infuriating. I have tried being patient, for 4 weeks. The beta worked perfectly fine however at launch the stuttering began. I honestly thought after so many threads with people having the same issues there would have been a fix but its been 4 weeks. Come one.

    Also sorry for the aggressiveness, it's just built up anger over 4 weeks.

    Yeah, i7 7700K, 16GB 3000MHz, 1060 6GB and gettin 100% CPU load with any graphic settings.

    And i have shaders caching on that not helping.
