2nd Player Unable to Sign in in Co-op (Xbox)
Second player is FORCED to play as guest and therefore earn NO points towards upgrading their characters. Unbelievable that this made it into production. this is the response I received from their technical chat.
Vincent: Thanks for contacting EA Help, my name is Vincent. How may I assist you today?
you: hello, i'm trying to play local co-op in battlefront 2 and am unable to sign a second user they. They always have to play as guest
you: I"ve seen a lot of people complain about this in the forums and wanted to see what the official response it
you: you should have my account info in case I get disconnected from chat, but just in case my email is [edit: email address removed]
you: hello?
Vincent: Hey there! Thanks for patiently waiting.
Vincent: I see.
Vincent: I know how it can be.
Vincent: I will try to assist you with that.
Vincent: May I know your name?
you: David
Vincent: Nice to meet you, David.
you: Same here
Vincent: Thanks.
you: I'm assuming this is a known issue?
Vincent: I'd check that for you.
Vincent: Can I please take a couple of minute while I check the details for you?
you: sure
Vincent: Thanks.
Vincent: Thanks for waiting.
Vincent: Let me help you with some of the troubleshooting steps that should help.okay?
you: ok,
Vincent: Please follow the steps:
-: Settings -> Network Settings
- select the option: Advanced Settings
-select the option: Alternative Mac Address
- select the option: Clear
you: ok, before I do that, I have to ask what is the world that has to do with the coding of your game? When I choose co-op there is NO option to sign in a second player. They just auto start as guest. Checking network settings would be a good place to start if I was having trouble signing into my microsoft account or my ea account
Vincent: These steps will assist if there's any connection thing however, what I was read in the forum just now is that there is no 2nd player option there.
you: exactly. in the first game it asked the second player what profile they wanted to sign in as
Vincent: I think in this they doesn't have a 2nd player option.
Vincent: .
you: there is a second player option, that is what co-op is for. it just does not allow the second player to choose their profile
you: aren't you supposed to be supporting the game, but you don't know if there are 2 player options?
Vincent: If you're not able to choose the 2nd player, accordingly that doesn't make sense if we call it 2 player game.
you: omg...i have no response. Do you have a manager that can assist?
Vincent: Let me get you connected to a supervisor.
you: thanks. appreciate it
Vincent: Please be patient, this can take sometime.
Vincent: I can see that there's a security question on the account, could you please answer " City I was born in.
"
you: Akron
Vincent: Thanks.
you: np
Vincent: Getting you connected.
you: awesome
info: Please wait while we get this chat session where it needs to go.
info: Thank you for contacting us. Supervisor will help you soon.
Supervisor: Thanks for contacting EA Help, my name is Atul, one of the available supervisor on the floor.
you: thanks. sorry to get you involved, but the other tech honesty, had no clue what he was talking about and should not be supporting this game.
you: As for my issue, there are several forum posts about it. When trying to play co-op the second player is forced to play as a guest rather than being able to select their xbox profile
Supervisor: No issues David. I will certainly try to fetch an answer for this.
you: thanks
Supervisor: Thank you for waiting. I really appreciate your time and patience.
Supervisor: As I have discussed this case with my team and they have updated that there is no option to play as another user, we can only play as the guest.
you: there is going to be a fix for this, correct?
you: that can't be by design
Supervisor: It is as intended, there is no change in it.
you: that can't be the case since you could sign in the second player in the first game. there would be no logic to remove that feature in this one
Supervisor: Sadly, we do not have the option to do it now.
you: im at a loss for words
Supervisor: I will take this as feedback and will report this to the studio team, so that they can look into the issue.
you: upthe focus of the game is to level your characters and the way to do that is through playing the game. So you are telling me that EA is forcing users to play the game and get NO CREDIT?
Supervisor: Sadly we do not have the option now.
Supervisor: Is there anything else I can help you with?
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to [edit: email address removed] at the end of your chat session.
you: no. thanks
