Kind of late, but anyways.
For the Assualt trooper I almost always have the toughen up Star card equipped. It’s saved my skin several times.
One of the worst mistakes you can make in this game as a hero is going against a speeder, or rushing into combat when there are multiple enemies and you don’t have any crowd clearing abilities.
speeders melt lightsaber heroes super fast. Like, don’t try it.
Playing the objective is super important, not only will it get you battle points, but it could also lead to a potential victory.
also, for BB-9E, since he such a lower stun than BB8, you have to be careful. With him, troopers are your best friends. It’s always best to have some support when going against hordes, which isn’t BB-9E’s strength.
also, starfighters are super important. Only strafe on the objectives, like an ion disrupter holder, or an important area. Regular troops are also fine to shoot. Just don’t go for heroes, that’s rude and mean. They have no means of fighting back.
@Ibmilo1Uhm, speeders? Are you talking about the current version speeders? They aren't a real threat to anyone anymore, because it has become very hard to actually hit something with them and their dmg output has been reduced greatly.
If your experience has been different however, please elaborate.
That point about BB-9E isn't true, with the Faster, Faster star card the Shock Spin gets a noteable damage buff which in fact allows you to obliberate groups of enemies. This star card is even meant to use that ability against groups because the dmg buff is only active when at least 2 enemies are within your AoE at epic card level.
For real, you can go just as easy against hordes with this droid as with BB-8, just that BB-8 is a bit better off against enforcers.

@TRlALONI mean on Endor I was Rey (full health) and I just got destroyed by the speeder alone, I was running and hiding and stuff... dead. Maybe it was an isolated incident where it was a glitch idk.
On the point about BB-9E, I meant just using his regular stun prod. I’m super good as him, but I just see new players never using his abilities and trying to take on a group of players with only the prod. They also never dodge. Probably should’ve been more clear.- 5 years ago
@Ibmilo1Weird, I don't remember speeders being any good anymore since the update. Maybe that guy specialised himself in using them also with hardware setups, making them easier to use.
Ah, ok. Well, the dmg upgrade for hBB-9E's main weapon helps too. I use this with shock spin damage upgrade and more hp regeneration.
All in all, I really like using BB-9E in greater modes and I feel like many players underestimate this droid. Funniest part is yeeting people into the abyss on the First Order's dreadnought though lol.

The Droideka can be just as deadly for republic tanks as the Clone Commandos are for separatist tanks.
Stop behind the tank and use the middle ability barrage of the droideka to shoot at the rear of the tank, which is a weak spot and will make the tank suffer a lot of extra damage.
If the driver doesn't react in time, he'll be obliberated really fast.
For maximum effectiveness, try to get as close as possible to the rear end of the tank, as the dmg output of the Droideka laser cannons drops a lot over distances.
I just started playing the Droideka since 3 days or something and just gave this a try.
Republic players are lucky that most people don't use the Droideka at all on the ground maps.
Droideka are really fun, great to capture objectives in supremacy and good for long killstreaks if played right. Unfortunately you'll usually fall way back in the team scoring and have less kills overall than the other good players in your team. That's because other reinforcements allow you to make more kills in less time in the optimal case as they're not that much dependant from the right tactical deployment. Playing the Droideka is really something you're doing purely for the fun of it, even if you never die and capture one objective after another, the score won't be really grateful to you.
