Basically EA provide one type of game (i.e. multiplayer) and then say weve looked at our market and everybody is playing multiplayer. Well of course they are, its all theyve got. Doesnt mean they dont want something else. I too am not really into the competition of of online multiplayer, .... "enjoy the game in a more relaxed environment " never a true word spoken @Go_Heels_83
Hey everyone!
DICE made a comment about the arcade mode in the reddit AMA.
The comment was made by: Paul Keslin, one of the Multiplayer Producers over at DICE.
The link to the comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/7d4qft/star_wars_battlefront_ii_dice_developer_ama/dpvbk26/?context=3
The comment:
"We see Arcade as a great way to get familiar with the game as well as put you alone, or you and a friend, into an experience tailored for that number of players.
That said, we are very aware that some of you would love to have what is essentially a Multiplayer mode available offline. And we think that makes sense! It's an opportunity for learning the ins and outs of the Multiplayer and allows for a great, safe experience. Nothing we can commit to today, but we'll keep this one on our list."
I fully understand that it would be amazing if it was implanted to Star Wars Battlefront 2, I personally agree. But this is our latest statement about the topic.

THANKS FOR THE UPDATE @EA_Atic. i am pleased that the powers that be are hearing us. Is there any further news on split screen PC with coop and duel and offline star fighter. Lots of people on the forum have been wanting those too. Please keep us updated as to a news regarding offline features.
thanks again

@EA_Atic Thank you for the update. We do like when you guys add into the conversation so please keep that up.
But a BIG issue a lot of players have is that the offline content has been demanded time and time again over the years and still hasn't properly been added into Battlefront. There is clearly a high demand for it. Yet we still don't have it.
This creates a mistrust with the developers and the players because they say they are listening and going to add content based on player demand but don't deliver, so it feels like no one is really listening or taking our feedback seriously. This has been a issue with a lot of other topics like MTX and having more open and less restrictive maps for example. EA/DICE have "listened" to feedback like adding in clones war era content and adding a campaign but this isn't really from feedback because this is content that should have been in the first BF 2015.
It's just becoming very frustrating for me and I'm sure many others that we aren't seeing what players really want.

Thank you very much for the reply, and letting all of us know EA is engaged in this idea. Please keep it up. I'll buy Star Wars BF2 if FULL OFFLINE MULTIPLAYER can be implemented. If EA truly wants profit, they should know that they will make more money if they engage ALL players... Solo and online.
Regarding adding full multiplayer: Online players won't stop paying just because they can access a full game offline; They will continue to pay for online content, so I don't think EA would be hurting profit by adding full offline multiplayer.. Quite the opposite. Solo players (which definitely account for part of SWBF2's decrease in sales compared to SWBF1) will actually see it as a good investment. EA can gain back that consumer base AND keep the same sales numbers from online multiplayer, or perhaps even higher numbers since Full Offline will allow online players to experience high-level weapons, perks, and heroes which would incentivize them to attain these same things in a more competitive online atmosphere.
- Anonymous8 years agoI would love to have the multiplayer experience offline. I want to experience the full game with all mods alone or in splitscreen. My trouble with all the statements that EA or DICE has made in the past is that it’s just words. Just words but no actions. Like we can’t commit to it today is saying maybe we gonna do it. Just confirm that you gonna do it and tell us when we gonna get the update. The fans asked for a great offline experience like Conquest again and again. And all we got is a statement saying, it does make sense or we see how we can do it. It feels like it’s 50/50 if the offline mode is really gonna be released. Please EA/ DICE just do it. Just confirm it’s gonna happen 100%!!! That’s what I wanna hear.

Wow, I am amazed. Thank You @EA_Atic.
However, if this is going to actually be added. It needs to be the SAME as the multiplayer, an exact copy of the entire multiplayer modes, just offline against bots. All ships, hero's/villains and modes. ALL of it. PLEASE!!!
And, we still need to be able to earn points/credits by playing it. And, please don't limit us to how many we can earn doing it. Why should I not be able to earn or unlock things playing against bots the same as other people do online if I choose to?
The deal is. Not everyone thrives in an online or competitive environment, I am one of them. I really want to ENJOY this game, but frankly, I can't because of the online being skill based. I often don't even hit 5000 points by the end of a round. I rarely EVER get to be a Hero, if one is even available by the time I actually get that many points, or the round it not over/ending by then. I really don't get to enjoy what this game has to offer, because it is so skill based on how many points you earn by getting kills and accomplishing things online. If I only get 5 kills in an entire match and die 20 times, how am I having fun? I am not. So, I really don't play the game much at all because of these things. There are times, like two days ago, where I logged in and went to a Galactic Conquest game but was killed 4 times within two minutes of starting the match. I couldn't do anything, but obviously get frustrated. So, I just logged out and quit playing. That is just NOT fun. I come home from working 10 hours, I want to relax and enjoy myself. Not get decimated by skilled or cheating players.
Adding the multiplayer game to be allowed to be played offline with bots would really make a LOT of people happy and have us playing this game daily. I would allow us to experience all it has to offer without all the problems and hindrances.
Thank, you.

It doesn't help that Galactic Assault literally gives you no incentive to play as a team, the payout for defending or attacking objectives is punitive compared to just farming kills in the air or killing enforcers, aerial troops or anything that gives you more points than actually playing as a team, and yes this is the case because I have consistently been playing the objective and getting a dozen or so kills and still don't even break 6,000 points each game, meanwhile the guy who ran around in an a-wing farming ai bots and strafe running receives 20-40k points.
You hardly get anything for playing as an officer either especially when boosted teammates you should receive assist points or at least something more than teamplay points at such low amount. I've since switched to blast because you know I play the objective and that's killing people and a receive a much better payout in xp and credits than wasting my time with Galactic Conquest which needs work big time.
So yes I can understand why people would much rather have offline modes which should have been implemented since day one.- 8 years ago
Half my reason for wanting the entire game with bots is because I am just not that good obviously. I rarely EVER get a Hero. Unless I can be a Sniper and be far off where I can do well, I am just going to not do very well. I am not good at close quarters play in this game, I just die a lot.
I played today for a few matches and actually got Yoda, once, and died within 1 min of getting him...as I usually do when getting a Hero/Villain. So, I never get to enjoy them anyway because every single time I get the option to use one, I just die quickly. Every single time I have ever actually be able to be one, I just die right off the bat.
Playing normally, I am usually in the bottom 6 of a match, so I just can't have fun online against actual people because the skill level is all over the place. Once in awhile I can make it in the middle section of the list, but rarely ever. I just don't do well online. I really dislike playing against skilled players who just kill you repeatedly.
I would rather be able to pick the skill level of the bots, and play and ENJOY the game. This game just frustrates me to no end because I could be having so much fun if I could just play the multiplayer against bots of my hardness choosing.
Many people are very good at these games and just ruin it for the people that aren't.
I am practically begging at this point for them to implement this soon.

Thanks @EA_Atic for the info.
I understand the intention to prevent players who play bot matches from having advantages over those who fight the real war online and I think solo players respect that. However, I don't see any downside in just allowing us solo players to set up bot matches with the same set of maps and game modes as the online multiplayer, but without gaining any progression point. The classic 2005 BF2 has no progression and we're okay with that.
From my point of view, if you give us all the assets to play with for the offline bot matches, your game will have good longevity. It would justify paying the full price and you could keep selling it long after competitive online players move on to something else. Cutting most of the assets from the offline mode like you're doing now to force choke us into joining the online battles, we rebel and don't buy your game (or at least we'll wait until it's cheap). That's less money for you.
Some players, especially older gamers with full-time job, just want to fire up a short session from time to time to fight bots in the scenes we love from the movies. We don't see much appeal in investing too much time to 'git gud' just so we could survive a merciless horde of kids who play 72 hours a day.
Please think about it. It'd be much appreciated if you could make the "full" Customer Arcade happen for BF2.
