I'm not having the issue anymore. I got the game free through Epic a while back, so I uninstalled then installed again through Epic. I don't know if that exactly is the solution because it just installs through EA App anyway, but I can accept invites now. I launch through EA App just like I used to. I hope this somehow works for other people because EA doesn't care to help us.
Similarly I got it in a bundle on Steam. It works.
Why it won't work in EA's own launcher makes no sense.
