Tom Clancy, I mean JackRyan162 :P
This is going to be off the wall odd - I found a solution for a different game, saying the error is related to the version of windows and a media pack will fix it, link is in the post, it's on EA answers under a different game :P

I downloaded the fix as suggested but when I run it, it is giving me an error that "The update is not applicable to to my computer"
Arggh!

I did some more looking around. It looks like this article might provide the fix. Need to reboot to check it

Well that seems to fix the issue as the pop up no longer happens, but the game does not start. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it still wont start. I click on the Play button from the origin app or from the desktop icon and I get the spinning wheel for a few seconds then nothing. This is frustrating. Will start a new topic.
Thanks

@jackryan162 Missed if your new topic was created yet - My internet was out for some hours last night/early am..
First try this, Move the "STAR WARS Battlefront II" folder from "C:\Users\UserName\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II", to the desktop. then reboot, then run the game repair tool.
Any time you do an uninstall and reinstall (reboot after the uninstall, before you start reinstall), make sure to;
Move the "STAR WARS Battlefront II" folder from "C:\Users\UserName\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II", to the desktop. This will allow the files to be redownloaded. *
The uninstall doesn't remove the documents\BF2 folder, also as an fyi, this does reset your in game settings.
If a clean boot is allowing the game to run, then it might be antivirus software blocking it, make sure if your AV software is using a firewall or web shield, that the game is on the allowed list.
