@Squaul31 it’s not that it’s impossible to do it’s that it’s not possible for THIS particular game to be done WELL.
We see games with cross platform drawbacks all the time (see COD). There’s reasons why Take Two / R* never made GTA 5 cross platform; in fact they specifically avoided it.
Both of those AAA titles suffer from exploits and mods that erode the gameplay. At the very least PC to PC can combat that but PC to console cannot.
further you have to look at the nature of the game itself. A title like Forza Horizon isn’t such an issue for cross play because you’re not seeking to have a server resolve mechanics of the level of detail that BF 2 has.
BF 2 is already bad enough as is; making it cross play would only add load to an already taxed game engine.
the only benefit to cross play for BF 2 would be greater match / player availability but that would come at the cost of an even poorer gameplay environment. The hit detection & input stacking is already garbage, on cross play it would be worse.
so before you complain about baseless positioning understand that it isn’t a possibility issue it’s a quality issue.
