Indeed, the issue is still there. That's incredible. And the controls don't work properly if you don't use a geniune Xbox controller, worse than worse.
As I play with the Xbox controller for the starfighter (because I can't use my hots joystifck, which would make more sense in a starfighter...), each time I go back to infantry I have to put out the controller batteries to deactivate it and to be bale to play with my mouse/keyboard.
That's a realy shame. The previous battlefront could do it!
Someone at EA is really reading these posts??? and taking them in account???
Or it only serves as a filter for angry and disappointed players???
We are reading the forums and sending on the feedback to the teams. 🙂

I had this issue from launch until it went away after the February 1.2 update. Now it has re-appeared since the recent 2.0 update. It is very frustrating and makes the game practically unplayable.

That's good to know, I hope the issue will be fixed soon, or may it has been fixed in the last update (Origin has downloaded an update today) ; that would be good news.

Well, after having launched the game today, I can say the issue is still there. How ridiculous, it just made me abandon the game... It's like a joke, a very bad one, it's the reality, the first game ever that can be controlled with the mouse and a controller (a unique one!) but you can't switch between them without taking out the controller's batteries. It's the most incredible and ridiculous bug I've ever seen. And no one to fix it! In one word... Bravo guys, thanks for your profesionalism!

yea...sure, but what good can that do, if this is a claim that's has been around since the release of the game, and so far they haven´t do anything to fix it.

Just checking to see if there is a solution that will be forthcoming...

Here we are in September, and I still can't disable my hotas so I can use mouse/keyboard.
EA claims they sent feedback to their team in April and it still hasn't been fixed. This support is absolutely horrible and completely worthless. What a joke.

And now in December 2018 and soon 2019 and still I couldn't find any option in the Settings menu nor in "C:\Users\<user>\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II\settings\" to turn off controller. I still need to unplug it before launching the game.

You ever find a solution? I can't use WASD and every other game I have (outside of Origin) lets me disable controllers which allows me to use the PS Navi with key binds and my mouse. In Origin games, both the key binds and the controller inputs are read making me do 2 separate actions and unable to play the game. Was hoping there would be a solution by the time Anthem demo came around

I have given up on this issue, and have bought an usb-hub with a power button, so I can disable all controllers before going in to the game.
This bug is probably never going to get fixed...

@EA_Atic , It's been a year now. Where is this feature? My controller has a different lay-out than the the one shown in-game, I want to use my custom key binding program, but in order to work I have to disable my controller, A loved feature in SWBF I. Why isn't this in 2?

Are you sure? Because its September 2020, 2 years after "This feedback have been sent on to the team!" and i found this post because I'm having the same issue

It's quite incredible this issue still exist, even more incredible it existed in the first place, what kind of game doesn't let you choose which controller to use?
Anyone figured any work around for this, maybe messing up with config files? Because it doesn't seem EA cares about it..
