Battlefront 2 does not start

Hello there,

I bought and played BF2 2018 without any issues.

Today I wanted to play it again as I have just finished the single playe mode of Squadrons but unfortunately I does not start at all.

Unfortuantely the game seems not to provide any logs or debug mode to troubleshoot this.

Anyone here have suggestions what might be an issue?

My PC specifications would be:

i9 9900K

32GB RAM

enought space for the game (1 TB NVMe)

Windows 10 for Workstation

What might be a suggestion from my side:

- Issues as I run Hyper-V due to work

- Issues with my filesystem as I use ReFS instead of NTFS

Thanks for any suggestions what to try.

    Okay what seems to work is to disable everything via the "clean boot" mentioned by @EA_Atic  in an earlier post.

    Do a reboot after that.

    Enable all services again.

    Do another reboot.

    Than the game is playable.

    I'll try to investigate that further.

    Maybe it's linked to Steam?!

    Hey @ShowIpROUTE  Thanks for the details!

    Can you try to move the SWBF2 document folder to desktop and then start the game up.

    Hello @EA_Atic ,

    thanks for your suggestion!

    I have tried that and moved the folder from Documents to Desktop - but this did not solve my problem.

    The only thing I see or saw (did not mention it earlier, sorry for that): There are two processes at task manager. Both with around 220 MB RAM usage.

    The 1st process kills itself after a couple of seconds while the second one exists for a couple of minutes.

    Both do not increase RAM usage, CPU usage is not existing.

    After that above mentioned time both processes are no longer existing but there is no GUI popping up or at least an error message.

    @ShowIpROUTE 

     

    Can you try to do a clean boot to see if there any programs messing with Star Wars: Battlefront 2and turn off any overlay programs for example Discord or Nvidia experience.

     

    Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

    @EA_Atic Hello again and thanks for your suggestion - it fixed my issue.
    The service which cause Battlefront 2 not to start was "EasyAntiCheat" from Epic Games.

    Maybe you could have a sidenote somewhere that this application could cause some troubles?

    @ShowIpROUTE I thought that may be a solution for the Epic/Origin issue but that service is not running on my system. The hunt to get this game to work goes on to day 6 ☹️

    @EA_AticOkay so yesterday the solution with deactivating a service worked - today not.

    Didn't change anything.

    @EA_Atic 

    What worked right now was to remove the two files

    starwarsbattlefrontii.exe

    starwarsbattlefrontii_trial.exe

    from within the folder and "reinstall" the game.

    Is this an expected behaviour?
