Hello,I have recently been struggling with a Battlefront 2 issue whereby the game (at seemingly random points; load screens, mid-game, main menu, etc) will crash without warning and force my PC to reboot immediately. I have been reading a lot of posts spanning from since the launch of the game where other PC players have reported this problem, though none of their fixes seemed to have worked for me.What's more, this issue has only started happening since a couple of weeks ago when I got my new setup; my previous PC setup did not have this problem. I am currently running on a Ryzen 2700x, 16GB RAM and a 1060GTX (though the 1060GTX was also a part of my previous setup which, again, did not experience this issue). I will add also that this is the only game that has given me this problem.As I say, I have tried every apparent fix that I can find with no positive results; things I have tried include:- Changing the DX12 option through the 'BootOptions' file (the option does not appear in-game for me).- Adding a FPS limit in both the 'BootOptions' & 'ProfileOptions_profile' files (this seemed to revert back to default even when changing it to read-only).- Toggled both Windowed and Fullsceen mode; issue persisted.- Repaired the game through Origin.- A couple of other little bits with adjusting various graphics settings in-game.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

@EA_Barry I'll take some time to go through these steps ASAP.When the system was assembled, there was tinkering within the BIOS, however as of right now, I believe everything is running at stock settings. Is this something that can affect Battlefront 2 directly? As I mentioned, I have had no issues with any other games; some more demanding and resource intensive than BFII itself and they have been fine. The Dxdiag is attached also.

Some more stuff to try: Reset GPU defaults via its control panel Right click the game tile in Origin and the Repair Clean boot before playing: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 or http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/ System file checker: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 Your comment about the PSU has me thinking. If you are comfortable with this: open your PC case and check all of the cable connections coming from your PSU (both ends of cables) and reseat to be sure. @EA_Blueberry When the components were purchased, I was assured that they would be fully compatible with Windows 7 (hence why I continued to use it after upgrading); that being said, Windows 7 was an absolute pain in the backside to get working correctly. I had actually been having an issue with Borderlands 2 as of late where I was told that upgrading to Windows 10 was the only (possible) solution; I suppose that as more things become reliant on newer versions of Windows, I'll be forced into a corner sooner or later. This is something that I will look into in the coming weeks, however, if there are any other ideas that you may be able to suggest until then, that would be great!

I had been meaning to get back to you for some time now (life has been crazy).I had actually taken a second look at my BIOS some time after my last post and found a few options that were not the stock settings. After changing everything back to stock settings, I had tested the game however I encountered the same problem; random reboot. I figured I would give the PC a thorough clean; in fact, it was good that I did because the small removable tray situated below the PSU was CAKED in dust (fortunately the power supply was more or less clean, the mesh had caught most of the dust). I gave that good clean up, played the game and for about 2 weeks the game worked flawlessly until a few days ago where I encountered the same reboot problem. I do have CPUTemp actively logging my CPU temps and nothing is overheating there however I do not know of a tool that can monitor PSU temps and log that; I am wondering if something is going on there that is causing heat problems.That being said, I DO have Battlefront 2 installed on my external drive (as I do most other games these days). I had an issue a few days back when rendering out a file in After Effects (a file located on that same drive) and the error had prompted me of something along the time of the drive being disconnected; physically, it was not. My thoughts now are that is may be that the external drive is being funny; I will attempt to reinstall BF2 onto my SSD and see if that helps.Sorry of the novel, haha! I hope what I wrote makes sense.TL;DR -- I thought I fixed the problem however that does not seem to be the case. External drive might be acting up. Will test that out ASAP.EDIT - I reinstalled Battlefront 2 (totally fresh) onto a different drive and I had just encountered the same reboot issue after having played for a good few hours. I think it's safe to say then that the install location is not likely to be the cause. This is a huge pain! 🤐 I will be giving everything a clean again soon.

@EA_Barry Literally having the exact same situation as @APlankOfWood0 except with a GTX 770 card.Without fail, after 10 minutes of flawless 60fps gameplay, I crash to desktop with the error "Nvidia Display Kernel Driver (something like that) has crashed and recovered". I tried updating my drivers and this simply made my computer reboot randomly with and without launching this game periodically until I reverted to older drivers.I solved my PC rebooting randomly issue, but the game still crashes after about (I swear I am about to start timing it) 10 minutes, in menu or in game, doesn't make a difference.This is the only game this happens with. Prior to being forced to update my drivers when I installed BF2 several months ago I never had any issues, and recently, the last few days especially, the crashes are consistent and make the game unplayable as well as have made my system seem less stable then before. Would love an answer to what can be done now that I know I am not the only one experiencing this lately.

Do you have your video card and Windows power settings set to max? Do you use MSI Afterburner?
