Battlefront 2 hdr bug ps4 pro

Yeah same here.  Gameplay looks ok.....but loading screens, cut scenes.....even the opening logo on the black background has awful banding and halos.

The same thing happens to me on Xbox One X with a Sony Bravia 4k TV. I've seen the same issue reported for PC/PS4/Xbox and multiple brands of TVs.  For example, the HDR is broken in different areas:

1. Single player Cutscenes, opening/title screen - Ugly pixelation/banding
2. Menus, loading screens, match results screen - The screen becomes REALLY bright, then dims, then transitions to game.  This is very jarring.

I'm sure the devs can reproduce the issue by simply using a screen that supports HDR.

Please fix this!  It's a very annoying experience during an otherwise beautiful game!

I turned HDR off on my PS4 Pro and it was just as bad.....so looks like the issue isn’t HDR specific.

When I turn off HDR on my Xbox (in console settings) and quit/restart the game (restarting is necessary for the change to take effect), the issue appears to go way... But then I can't play with HDR.

As I look into this further, the backgrounds in the menus and loading screens really get blown out with pixelation/banding when HDR is enabled.

Maybe something PS4 specific then.  When you turn HDR off on the PS4 is forces all apps closed.  Same issue without HDR for me on those loading screens.

Thank you for the posts. It looks like this affects everone using HDR on the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro.

Unfortunately I don't have any time estimate on a fix but hopefully we'll have an update for you soon.

@netnothing Can you post an image with the HDR off? Can you try restarting the system and start again without HDR and see if anything changes?

Here are some pics from PS4 Pro on a Samsung 4K with HDR on.

Note, I get the same thing with HDR off (restarted PS4) and even in 1080p mode.

TV is KS9000.

Note - no other issues with any other games on system....even ones that do HDR.

Note the pixelation/banding when HDR is on. The brightness is significantly increased on these screens, but not during actual gameplay. And to clarify, I have calibrated the "HDR10 Peak brightness" option in Battlefront settings.

I am also seeing this issue with loading screens and even cutscenes with HDR turned on.

Worth noting that the actual in engine gameplay is GORGEOUS and does not seem to be experiencing the issue, so I'm just going to have to tolerate the ugly loading screens in favor of nicer gameplay
