Battlefront 2 hero ships gaining less battle points

Is it me or are the hero ships limited in gaining battle points? I can easily rack them up on my fighter (150points a kill) but as a hero ship i am lucky to get 25 points. I know they are stronger...

It's a feature I'm pretty sure, and makes sense to me. If they didn't limit the battle points then as soon as you died with your hero ship you'd be able to hop right back into it, which would stop any one else from using it.
