I had this same problem with my kids child account. This is how I fixed it
-From the parent/master account go to settings
-Then go to parental controls/family management
-Click on child’s account
-Under Parental Controls select Applications/Devices/Network Features
-Under Network Features, make sure the setting entitled “Age Filtering for Online Content” is set to “Off”
Once this is done games should be playable online. Good luck!
- 6 years ago@Botson24 I'm having the same problems and have age filtering set to off for my kid's child account and it's still failing. So that's not it. What i've been reading is that it may prevent you from doing this if you created your child's account with a birthday < 17 years of age. And PSN doesn't let you change your birthday unfortunately.

I got excited by @Botson24's suggestion because I original had age filtering on. Turning it off, though, had no effect, the same as @dopey_originid's experience.
This an annoying feature to Battlefront II.
